Milan-based cybersecurity startup Bynario has raised €2.1 million in pre-seed funding to build an autonomous application-security platform, after its researchers used advanced AI models to uncover previously unknown vulnerabilities in Apple software.
Tech.eu reported that the €2.1 million financing was led by 360 Capital Partners, with Prana Ventures also participating. The funding will support development of Bynario’s platform, expansion of its engineering team and work with enterprise customers.
EU-Startups reported that Bynario was founded in 2025 by Alfredo Pesoli, Giancarlo Russo and Lorenzo Cavallaro and is building technology spanning application code, cloud infrastructure and software supply chains.
Bynario wants to automate vulnerability triage
The product is designed around a growing problem for security teams: finding vulnerabilities is becoming easier, but determining which ones actually matter can still consume significant time.
Tech.eu said Bynario combines AI with offensive-security research to identify, assess and prioritize software vulnerabilities across company systems.
The company’s researchers have already applied advanced models to offensive-security work involving Apple’s macOS Screen Sharing technology. StartupCentrum reported that the team discovered previously unknown vulnerabilities in Apple software, disclosed them to Apple and later saw the issues addressed through software fixes.
Bynario CEO and co-founder Alfredo Pesoli said AI is lowering the cost of vulnerability research and exploitation, making a larger number of flaws economically attractive to attackers.
The funding points to a wider cybersecurity problem
Bynario’s €2.1 million round is small compared with Europe’s largest cybersecurity deals, but its target market reflects a much bigger shift.
Tech.eu data shows that European cybersecurity startups raised €1.3 billion across 64 rounds in the first half of 2026, representing a 124.8% year-over-year increase.
The challenge is increasingly less about whether security scanners can generate more vulnerability findings and more about whether teams can distinguish genuinely exploitable problems from noise.
That issue becomes sharper as automated systems make both software development and vulnerability discovery faster.
For security builders, Bynario represents an emerging software category: systems designed not merely to discover more bugs, but to determine which vulnerabilities deserve scarce engineering attention before attackers reach them first.
