The team behind the dating app RAW is working on a bold new wearable — the RAW Ring, a smart ring designed to alert couples to possible signs of infidelity using real-time biometric data, according to The Verge.

Currently in the concept phase, the RAW Ring is expected to feature a skin temperature sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and heart rate monitor. If a user’s physiological data shows unusual deviations from their baseline, their partner will receive a notification. The goal, according to RAW, is to promote deeper emotional awareness and help build trust between partners.

Powered by a dual-layer AI system, the ring will analyze both biometric and voice data. The AI will then interpret the changes and offer potential explanations — such as distinguishing between exercise, stress, or sexual arousal.

The concept has sparked intense debate online. Critics argue the device could encourage surveillance-like behavior and emotional insecurity in relationships. Others question whether AI-driven analysis can reliably capture the nuances of human emotion.

RAW has responded to concerns by promising that couples can fully customize their data-sharing settings — deciding what to share and when.

A prototype of the RAW Ring is scheduled for release in September 2025, with public sales expected in early 2026.
